The ultimate pedal for enduro racing and riding. The Mallet E was developed with the help of some well-known enduro athletes. It is 12% smaller than the Mallet DH pedals, but still includes many of its well-loved features. Available in two axle lengths, 52mm or 57mm (the 57mm pedal is only available in a half black/half blue colour option). The 52mm axle length provides a similar engagement point and Q factor to other pedal brands. If you have been using the Mallet DH pedal previously, you may benefit from using the longer axle version. Riders who prefer a wider Q factor or have less crankarm clearance may also benefit from the longer axle pedals. The pedal platform is concave, providing a secure foothold. Like its DH equivalent, it offers a flat pedal feel while still allowing for clipless riding. The Mallet E is 49g lighter and has a 12% smaller pedal body compared to the crankbrothers Mallet DH pedal. It also has a 52mm Q-Factor, while the DH equivalent has a 57mm Q-Factor. The ribbed body allows for better traction when unclipped, and the chamfered edges help reduce rock strikes. The open design of the pedal allows for excellent mud-shedding. The pedal has a 4-sided entry, meaning you can clip in on all sides of the pedal by pushing forward or pulling backward. The increased float of 6° allows for side-to-side rotational play, enabling the rider to shift positions on the bike while keeping their feet clipped into the pedal. This improves rider control and bike handling. The crankbrothers premium cleats included with the pedal can be adjusted for either a 15° or 20° release angle. Zero-float cleats can be purchased separately. The pedal also features integrated traction pads, allowing you to customize the fit between your shoe and the pedal interface. The pedals come with 1mm tread pads fitted and include a set of 2mm pads in the box. The outer enduro cartridge bearing is designed specifically for pedals, using superior materials, grease, and sealing. The inner igus LL-glide bearing has been exclusively formulated for crankbrothers and performs well in adverse conditions. The double seal system keeps water and debris from entering the pedal. All crankbrothers pedals are fully rebuildable for simple maintenance. They have consistency in parts across all pedal models, making servicing easy using the pedal refresh kit (CRB-16051). The Mallet E pedal weighs 419g per pair. It has a forged SCM 435 chromoly steel spindle, a 6061-T6 aluminium body, and 17-4PH stainless steel wings. The spring is made from 300 series stainless steel. The pedal also has 12 pins per pedal for added grip. Premium brass cleats are included and the release angle can be adjusted to either 15° or 20°. The Mallet E pedal comes with a 5-year warranty.
